
My name is Jonathan Sabella, I am a Freelance Character Artist with my main focus on realistically informed, anatomically correct figure creation for use as game assets, cinematic characters or fully functional CGI characters for compositing into film.
Throughout the last several years I have been working as a digital artist with a strong focus on 3d modeling and animation. I have become adept at techniques such as high-poly modeling, keyframe animation, multi-pass rendering, texture painting, UV unwrapping, detail map generation, retopology, film motion tracking, traditional concept sculpting (Super Sculpey) and digital concept painting.
When I am not working, I am constantly interested in seeing where the bar is set in the industry as well as sharing new ideas with fellow developers and CGI Artists through communities like CGSociety. Additionally, I am a member of the Chicago chapter IGDA and I am also involved locally in the Kendall County Art Guild, a group of professional artists from the area. In the past the Art Guild has sponsored me twice to receive their annual scholarship.
